Maybelline Baby Lips Review

The Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms were FINALLY released in the UK a few weeks ago.  I bought all 6 of them as Boots were doing a 3 for the price of 2 deal on them so pretty much got 2 free.  First of all I like the packaging, the colours are fun and cute.  Although that is personal taste, I've heard people comment on how they dislike the packaging for it.

All the balms glide on so easily.  I was expecting them to be hard and tug on the lips during application but it did the opposite.  There are 3 SPF ones: Hydrate (blue with pink letter) has a lemon scent, Mint Fresh (green with purple letter) obviously has a lemon scent and Intense Care (yellow with orange letter) has a cherry scent.  The other 3 have a slight tint to them, it isn't a full on tint.  Pink Punch (pink with yellow letter) has a passion fruit scent with a slight pink tint, Cherry Me (orange with red letters) has a lovely cherry scent with a slight red tint and Peach Kiss (purple with peach letters) has peach scent with a slight nude tint.

I bought these lip balms as soon as they were released so I've had a couple of weeks to try each one out and although I would use all of them I do have my favourites.  I love Pink Punch and right now my lips are very cracked and sore so I am find Hydrate is helping them.  I like to put Mint Fresh on  before bedtime as well for some reason.

I recommend them, for £2.99 each from Boots I am impressed with them.  I really hope that Maybelline release more of them in the UK.  I would love to try to Electro collection next.

Skincare routine update and life

So I have been very MIA recently but with it being the summer holidays I have been busy with my daughter.  It is hard to keep her entertained now she doesn't go to nursery for 2.5 hours a day! lol  It was also her 5th birthday at the weekend.  Her dad and I had decided to split the day with her this year so she spent the morning and afternoon at his and then came home at 4pm.  I am having a birthday tea for her this weekend with the family and I've ordered a really fancy cake, I literally cannot wait to see it!

Just over 2 weeks ago I blogged about my skincare routine.  I have been doing routine for nearly a month now and I am so impressed with it.  I find the cleansing wash a bit thick though, it does the job but the pump is hard to press down.  The dryness on my forehead and nose has cleared up, my foundation no longer looks cake-y anymore.  My skin feels so much more hydrated now.

I have got a few blogs lined up for the next few days including a review of the 6 Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms that have been released in the UK so far and an MUA haul and review.

Review: Neal & Wolf Harmony Intensive Care Treatment

If I had to sum this product up in one sentence it would be: Heaven in a tube!

My natural hair is brown (not a nice brown either, a proper mousy brown), dry, dull, frizzy, wavy and thin.  I have put my hair through a lot over the years.  I have bleached it twice in 5 days in an attempt to remove black dye.  I have dyed it red so many times I have lost count.  I then bleached it again but went progressive this time doing over the space of 10 months via highlights until it was 1 shade from white!  I decided to give my hair a rest from all the chemicals I had inflicted on it and I went back to my natural brunette colour.  Back in spring I decided to go for an ombre 'do which meant more bleach on the ends of my hair.  Now when I wash my hair it has the worst tangles in it, it feels rough and difficult to brush through.

I actually got this product in my first BeautEco box which I blogged about here.  I had never heard of the brand before so I doubt I would have ever bought it.  My first impression was it has a nice scent.  There is a bit of a coconut smell to it.  I used the Great Hair shampoo which I love, I've been using it for a few months now, I've been using it on my daughters long hair too and I've only just had to buy a new bottle so it has lasted a long time! The second I put the treatment on my hair I instantly felt the knots and tangles dissolve.  My hair felt softer and I was able to massage in it without my hair getting caught up or knotted.  I did that for 5 minutes like the directions said and rinsed it off.

After combing my hair through (which was the easiest comb through I've done in years!) with a wide toothed comb I left my hair to dry naturally for an hour and then gave it a little blast with my hot air styler to straighten it a bit.  I was impressed with the outcome.  My hair was less frizzy, not tangled or knotted at all, it didn't feel dry and my hair looked like it had a bit more life to it.  I would definitely buy this once I have used this up.  I found it on Beauty Bay for £7.96 right now as it is in a sale, regular price is £9.95.  It is definitely worth it if your hair is in need of repair, dry or just needs a boost.

BeautEco Box

I discovered BeautEco Box last week, I have no idea how long it has been around but I love the idea of it.  It is basically the beauty version of a graze box.  Once a month you receive a box with 5 products inside.  You get the choice of 3 boxes.  It is £10 + p&p a month and you can unsubscribe at any time.  So even after the first month if you don't want to continue it you can cancel it.

For the first month I chose this box.  Inside it had Neal and Wolf Elevate Volumising Lotion (full size), Neal and Wolf Harmony Intensive Care Treatment (full size), Art Deco Clear Mascara./Brow Gel (full size), Pukka Radiance Serum (10ml sample) and Eyes of Agnes Exfoliator (15ml sample).  I have tried the Brow Gel and the Radiance Serum so far, I am impressed with the serum.  I put it on after I used my toner and before I put my moisturiser on.  Right now I am having a tiny bit of a spot breakout on my forehead which I think it down to the humidity in the air and the fact I have been sweating a lot with this heat so it is hard to see the full effect of the serum.  I am going to continue using it and if I like it then I would consider buying the full size version of it.  Although at £32.00 for 50mls of it I would need to REALLY like it and see a visible difference in my skin.

In other news the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm is finally onsale in the UK.  Boots are selling them for £2.99 each and are doing a 3 for 2 right now.  Given that there are 6 of them I simply HAD to order all six.  I can't wait to receive them, try them and review them!

E.L.F Haul

I treated myself to some E.L.F products after getting a 50% off email last week.  I have been on the fence with a lot of E.L.F products.  There are ones that I cannot live without and then others that are useless and not good quality at all.  Here is what I bought.

I didn't quite know why I bought this E.L.F Shimmer palette as I don't really use shimmer.  I was impressed with how smoothly this glides on skin.  I read reviews online that it is good as an eye primer so I gave it a go and quite liked it.  It is good for the brow bone under the eyebrows too.  You can't see it in the picture but it comes in 4 different colours - white, peach, pink and beige.  Once you apply it to the skin they all look very similar, there is not a great deal of difference in them however the pink shade is a bit more obvious, only by a tiny bit though.  At £3.75 it is not too bad a product and I will be using it more.

The E.L.F Zit Zapping Concealer in Corrective Green at £2.50 was disappointing to me.  I tried it on my red cheeks under foundation and I looked like the hulk.  It has a very thick consistency which made it hard to blend into the skin and it was very obvious under foundation.  I am not a fan of this product for myself so I won't be using it again.

I am not one for lip gloss as I always end up with it around my lips like a clown as the day goes on but when I saw the Studio Glossy Gloss I had to try it.  The shade I bought was called Twinkle Pink, the colour isn't as bright as the picture on the E.L.F website but it is still a lovely shade.  For some reason my photo make it look peach/coral, it isn't.  It is definitely pink! hehe It has a lot of colour to it and the applicator for it is a brush.  If you like a lot of sparkle on your lips then this is the product for you!

I bought the E.L.F Brightening Eyeliner in Coffee for my brows mainly.  I find actual brow pencils are too dark for me, even the lighter shades!  Eyeliner works better.  I have sparse light brow hairs and zero outer brow hairs (seriously, my eyebrow hairs stop half way so I have no ends. lol) so I have to draw them on.  I am still trying to master the technique though as I've only started doing my eyebrows so I won't be doing a before and after picture anytime soon! hehe  For £1.50 it is a great bargain and I would use the black one as an eyeliner too.

I treated myself to some new brushes.  A concealer brush, eyeshadow brush and brow wand.  I've used the concealer and eye shadow brushes before and they are great for when my Real Techniques brushes have been washed and are still drying.  Never used a brow wand before (mostly used the brushes or combs) so I gave that a try last night and was impressed with it.

I bought an E.L.F sharpener as well but didn't think anyone would want to see a photo of that. lol  And also Studio Lotion Wipes in Shea Butter.  Like I said in my previous blog I have given up with wipes but I had ordered these before I made that decision so I gave them to my mum who reported back to me this morning that she used them last night and again this morning, she loved the smell and her skin felt more refreshed and soft.  As you may tell I did not get my dry, sensitive, rosacea skin from my mum as she can use almost any product on her skin and know she won't get a reaction to it (I am jealous! hehe), my dad takes the credit for giving me sensitive skin! lol

My current skincare routine

I don't have a regular skincare routine as I am still trying to find what works for the skin.  I have decided to give up using facial wipes full stop now.  They hurt my face so much, even ones that claim to be gentle, moisturising and for sensitive skin.  Even when I use them softly it feels like I've just rubbed sandpaper over my face so I have admitted defeat with them.

Last week I treated myself to some new products after getting an email from Feel Unique about a one-day 20% off Elemis products.  This is what I got.

It is the Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash and the Elemis Rehydrating Genseng Toner.  They are £21 each from the Feel Unique site.  I have been using them twice a day (in the morning and about an hour before bedtime) for little under a week now and I am seeing a difference with my face.  It hasn't been dry once despite the fact the UK is in the middle of a heatwave right now.  My problem areas are mostly my forehead and nose, I get terrible flaky dry skin in those areas but so far nothing.

I have teamed it with the Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion.  I am so impressed with this moisturiser. For the last couple of months I have been using the Garnier Moisture Match for Dry to Very Dry skin but I found it took a long time to absorb, my face felt greasy for hours afterward and I couldn't see it helping the dryness at all.  After reading a lot of great reviews for Cetaphil I decided to give it a try. It was £8.35 for a 236ml bottle from Feel Unique.  From the first use I felt my skin feel softer and it absorbed within 10 minutes of applying to my face so I no longer have the shiny, greasy looking face.

Right now that is all I use on my face in terms of skincare.  I still have red cheeks from the rosacea but my face feels so much more hydrated, soft, smooth and more importantly no longer tight feeling!  I highly recommend the Elemis products, the toner is great to spray on your face (or even your arms and legs!) as well to freshen up throughout the day.  It has been great with this hot weather, very cooling and good for the skin as well.

Manicure Monday!

It is Monday which can only mean another Manicure Monday! yay!

This week I am wearing a new nail polish I got last week so this was the first time wearing it.  It is Cosmic Blue by W7.  I was actually quite disappointed with this at first, it was very thin and not much glitter.  With a lot of glitter type nail polishes this is the case but the colour through the bottle looked like it would go on better.  I applied 3 layers of it along with my usual 2 base layers of OPI Nail Strengthener and a top coat of it too.  I like the colour though.  I don't often wear blue but I think this looks very cute.

Last week I ordered a few things from E.L.F and was so excited to find they'd arrived at my parents today.  I will do an ELF haul blog tomorrow for it. :)

Also I am now on TWITTER and INSTAGRAM so feel free to follow me.

DIY Salt Spray!

God I love Pinterest!  I have found amazing home décor ideas, recipes, kids activities etc but yesterday I found a DIY salt spray.  I have been after a salt spray for a while but was constantly forgetting to buy one when I have been out so I was so happy to see a DIY pin while getting my Pinterest fix and it is so simple to make!  All you need is:

  • 2 cups of hot water
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon of conditioner or hair gel (optional)

Mix it all together, pour it into a spray bottle and voila! DIY salt spray!  I sprayed it into my freshly washed hair, gave it a scrunch and let it air dry for the rest of the night.  I have naturally wavy hair so I know I will have some curls from this method.  However you can section your hair, twist it up, pin it with bobby pins and leave overnight to dry.

By the time I went to bed (roughly 3 hours later) my hair was on the frizzy side which in this heat and humidity I did expect.  Come morning time the frizz had died down a touch.  I gave it a tiny spray again and another scrunch.  The curls have lasted all day and I would use it again.

When life gives you lemons....

... use them for your face!

I finally got around to trying Kandee Johnsons amazing lemon trick.  I first saw her video for it last year but kept forgetting to buy lemons.  The other day my mum gave me a little Jif lemon for no reason whatsoever and my first thought was 'oh I can try the lemon trick!'.  It is so simple - lemon juice and sugar.  Now I used caster sugar for this as it is all I had in the house but I am going to use brown sugar next time as I have heard that is so much better.

I have dry, sensitive skin as well as rosacea so I am always open to trying things that could help the dryness and/or rosacea.  I used this about 2 hours ago and so far my face has not gotten tight at all.  Usually when I wash my face, use anything on it my cheeks get a bit hot and tight - did not happen this time.  My forehead (which gets the worst of the dryness) is completely smooth.  I am impressed at how quickly I am seeing the benefit of it and best of all - it is all natural!

So give it a go and see for yourself how this easy homemade scrub is! :)

Manicure Monday!

I seem to have got myself into a routine.  Every Monday morning (after I've dropped my daughter off at nursery) I paint my nails, I have no idea when or how this started.  As I've mentioned in a previous post I love nail polish, however I am a nail biter.  I know, I know - big no-no but it is an anxiety thing.  I try really hard not to bite my nails, I even used that stuff you put on your nails that tastes horrible to discourage nail biting but it didn't work.

I swear by the OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener.  Miracle worker for my nails!  I got it as part of a Minnie Mouse OPI collection my mum bought me last year.  It works from the first application and you can see a visible difference straight away. You start off with 2 coats to your bare nails and then put one coat on every day to maintain it.  You can also use it with nail polish which means you can still wear your favourite nail polish as long as you've put the first 2 applications on underneath it.  Amazon is selling it for £8.94 which is the best price I can find online for it, everywhere else I've found is selling it for £18.99!

So for this week I am wearing.....

It is Lilac Dream by Models Own.  I only bought this nail polish the other day and it is my first Models Own nail polish.  They are doing a deal at the moment that you get 5 polishes for £20 and at £5 a bottle that is basically buy 4 get 1 free! Bargain!  I was dying to try all the colours I ordered but decided on the lilac one.

I have bought quite a few things over the last week so I will do a haul blog possibly later today or tomorrow.

Sunburn!

So yesterday I took my daughter over to a friends house, we sat in her garden for a couple of hours chatting while the kids all played away.  Later that night I got home to find one of my arms sunburnt.

The photo actually doesn't show exactly how red it is.  I had quite a restless nights sleep as my arm was hurting and I had nothing in the house to put on it.  I didn't even have my soothing gel pads in the fridge as I gave them to my dad to help his sore toe the other day so I was left with just having to use a face cloth soaked in cold water until I could get to the shops today.

I really love the Banana Boat sun products.  I use the kids factor 50+ on my daughter and usually on myself as I have fair skin that easily burns (as you can tell!! lol) but yesterday I stupidly forgot to put it on myself before I went out.  This is the After Sun gel spray with aloe in it.  It is rub-free too which means I don't have to touch my arm to rub it in which will only make it sorer.  It is a soothing mist type spray so very gentle when spraying onto sore and tender areas.  I got this from Asda for £5.00 which is the best place to buy it in terms of cost.  Boots is selling it for £8.63.  It is quite a big bottle as you can tell from the photo and you don't need to spray much on the affected area so it will last a while..

Moral of the story - put sunscreen on everyday it is sunny!  I wish I had done it then I wouldn't have a sore arm. hehe

Sanctuary Spa freebie review

I was planning for this blog to let you know about an amazing freebie Boots was offering but sadly it has ended.  I only found out about the deal myself 2 days ago and I was lucky enough to get it.  I've used Sanctuary Spa products in the past so this was a great opportunity to get myself some more things.  I treated myself to the following...

Foaming Cream Scrub

I am not really a fan of scrubs as I find them quite harsh on my skin and they often leave it feeling a bit tender.  I have no idea why this product doesn't do the same to my skin, maybe because it is a cream scrub it is less harsh?  I did accidentally touched my lips while using it and then proceeded to lick my lips which left me with a horrible salty taste in my mouth which was my own stupid mistake. lol Here is the link and it cost me £6.50.

Foaming Bath Soak

I love baths, especially with lots of lovely smelling bubbles. This is my go-to product when I am in need of a relaxing bath that I just want to melt away with.  It is very creamy, makes the bathroom smell delicious and if you love lots of bubbles in your bubble bath then you need this product.  It creates so many bubbles that my cats perch on the side of the bath trying to catch them all while I try to stop them from falling into the bath. hehe  Here is the link and it cost me £6.00.

Crème Soufflé

This was the free product I got for having spent £10 or more on selected Sanctuary products.  Now I have never tried the crème soufflé before so this was a new one for me.  I doubt I would have bought it to try given the price so to be able to try it as a freebie was fantastic.  Last night I had a shower with my lovely Sanctuary Scrub and then put the soufflé on my body, arms and legs.  I have not felt my skin so soft before.  I can still smell it faintly on my skin and that is after a sweaty nights sleep in this terrible hot weather we are having right now.  I only wish I could try this on my face! lol  It costs £10.50 but since I got it with the Sanctuary offer I didn't pay a thing for it, if you'd like to look at it for yourself then here is the link.  It is on a 3 for 2 offer though right now.

I was hoping this offer would still be running to give anyone who reads my blog a chance to get this amazing deal before it ended but sadly when I logged in this morning it was gone.  If I see it again, or any similar offer I will put it on the blog ASAP!  However tomorrow (Thursday 11th July) is the annual summer event where you can get more points on your Advantage Card.  I don't know the full details as I only saw them in-store as I was leaving and my daughter was starting to have a bit of a hissy fit so I couldn't read the full details on it.  I tried looking on the website and found zero details regarding this event.  I am going to pop in tomorrow to have a look and hopefully get some new things as well as more advantage points on my card. :)

Nails of the Week

I am a massive nail polish fan, I feel weird not having any colour on my nails so I've always got something on them.  This week my nails look like this....

Note - I am not the best at applying nail polish, I do get it on my skin from time to time! hehe

This is the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors, the shade is Disco Dolls.  It is a lovely gold colour with lots of sparkle.  I usually put 2 coats of it on.  I cannot find these in the UK anymore, I was lucky to buy a few of them a while ago.  I don't think they are doing them anymore as they seem to have nail polish in the Kardashian Beauty collection.  Of all the Kardashian Kolors I bought this one is definitely my favourite but it can be a pain to remove even when using 2 base coats and a top coat.  I need to soak my nails in the remover for a couple of minutes before wiping them.

In other news, my daughter has got her first mouth ulcer so my poor cookie isn't very well today.  There isn't much I can do for her either as you can't give bonjela to kids anymore so we are gargling salt water and when I say we I mean WE as I am having to do it too or she refuses. hehe

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows!

What a wonderful couple of days!  The sun has been shining which is always a bonus in Scotland.  Today it was the hottest so far at a staggering 25 degrees!  I know for a lot of people that isn't much but for Scotland that is sweltering heat! hehe

This morning my daughter and I made.... *drum roll*......

They were delicious!  I got the recipe from her Peppa Pig baking magazine.  So simple to make which can be dangerous for someone on a diet! hehe  We went over to visit my parents in the afternoon and spent the rest of the day in the garden soaking up the sun.  My niece was visiting too so  it was good to see the kids playing together.

The weather outlook for the rest of the week is looking to be the same as there is a crazy heat wave going on in the UK right now.  It means my rosacea is a bit sore right now so I am avoiding putting make up on for the time being as it can irritate is further.  I am currently working on a rosacea blog, what I use to conceal it, how I manage it etc.  I am hoping to have that posted in the next couple of days.

I hope everyone is having a lovely summer so far. :)

Product of the Day

I doubt I will write a Product of the Day everyday but when I find a new product that I just love then I will post one and today is it just HAS to be....

Ben Nye Banana Powder

I have heard so much about how amazing this product is and how the make-up artists to the celebs use it, especially Kim Kardashian.  I found it too pricey to buy before trying it so I bought a 5g sample from ebay for about £4.00.  I tried it today with just a BB cream underneath and was very impressed with the coverage.  Having dry skin I find that powder can sometimes be the enemy.  It can dry up my face further and give it a terrible looking caked effect.  This powder has not done that at all.  It does contain paraben which can aggravate acne and a lot of people tend to avoid any product containing parabens.  I think if you use this in moderation (ie not everyday) I don't see the harm in it but it is purely personal preference.

The 5g sample that I got will last me a while as you only need a tiny amount of it so I will definitely be buying a proper bottle of it when I am nearly finished with the sample.  It is quite difficult to find it in the UK as it sells out so fast!

My June Favourites

I have had a lot of favourite products over June but I've managed to pick a few to put up as my June faves.

Kim Kardashian Glam Perfume

My first fave has got to be the Kim Kardashian Glam perfume.  I love her first one so decided to try another of her perfumes.  I liked how this one was described in smell so bought myself a small 30ml bottle to try it.  I immediately loved the smell of it, it is quite similar to the first perfume but there is a difference.  You do need to top it up after a few hours so I tend to keep it in my bag with me.  I am in love with the design of the bottle, the ombre pink is cute and I adore the sparkles around the lid.  It is very girly.  I bought this 30ml bottle from ebay for about £15 but you can buy the 100ml from Amazon for £31.99.

Mac Fix+

I bought this a few months ago after watching a YouTube make up tutorial.  It was used to make a loose shimmer eyeshadow last longer and I thought it looked good so I googled it.  It is mainly a make up setting spray but there are many uses for this product.  I use it before I put my foundation on and when using loose eyeshadow.  Priced at £14.50 it is good value for money as you only use a tiny bit at a time so a 100ml bottle will last.  I got it from the Mac website.

GOSH Long Lasting Brow Pen

I am not a fan of eyebrow pencils.  I find that they look very fake and caked on which could be down to my dry skin type as I never see anyone else with cake-y looking eyebrows!  I discovered this pen while in Superdrug one day and decided it couldn't hurt to give it a try.  I have very sparse, thin, light eyebrows, in photos they look invisible so I need to fill my eyebrows in and create them because the outer eyebrow is non-existent!  This pen is a fantastic as it creates a fine line so you can slowly build the eyebrow up.  The shade I use is 004 Wheat, I got from Superdrug at £6.49.

Make-Up Academy Mosaic Bronzer

This is the first bronzer I have ever used.  I tend to avoid bronzer or fake tan as I have rosacea on my cheeks.  I decided to give it a try and bought the MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Shade 2.  I used this when I am using a BB cream instead of foundation and only when my rosacea is having calm day.  For the price it is brilliant.  I got it from Superdrug at £1.99 on a deal but I see it is back to full price at £2.50 now which is still a good price I think.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil

I've only just discovered the NYX range thanks to a video on YouTube.  I bought a few items a few weeks ago and I have fell in love with this product.  The shade I use the most is 625 Sparkle Nude.  It is a slightly gold sparkle.  It glides on so smoothly, you don't need to use a lot of layers to achieve the colour. I've just noticed that the shade actually matches my nail polish! haha  I got it from the NYX website for £5.00.

Yankee Candle - Pink Lady Slipper

I am beyond obsessed with Yankee Candles.  I put one on every night once my daughter is in bed.  My current favourite is Pink Lady Slipper, it smells so delicious.  My first thought when I smelled it was that it smelled exactly like Parma Violet sweets.  I have been using this scent for a couple of months now and I am no where near fed up with it.  I buy from Yankee Candle Direct as they usually have deals on such as 10 for the price of 8.

Who is Glitter Dash?

So who is Glitter Dash?  My name is Joanne.  I am named after both my parents.  My dad is Joe and my mum is Anne and they couldn't agree on what to call me so decided to combine their names.  I will be 30 this year which is quite a scary thought to be honest.  I am a single mum to a 4 year old, soon to be 5 year old daughter who starts school this year which is another scary thought!

I have always had an interest in fashion and beauty.  I used to be a severe bag lady, at one point I had so many bags I literally had no more room for anymore.  It was a sad day when I knew I had to give some of them up. lol

I literally have the most frustrating hair type and skin type to work with.  I suffer from rosaeca on my cheeks which means they are constantly red.  Not much seems to cover the redness, I've tried many colour correcting products but each day my cheeks are different.  I plan to do a blog on how I cope with the rosaeca soon.

My hair is horrendous at times.  It is thin, very thin.  It is currently the longest I've ever had it but the ends look so fine that I am going to have to get at least half of it cut off.  It is frizzy and has a natural curl to it.  I prefer a straighter style for my hair rather than the curls. I've put my hair through a lot over the years which had probably not helped the thin-ness of it.  As a natural brunette I bleached it a lot to achieve blond hair and ended up going one step too far to the point where it was one shade off white! lol  I had a red obsession for a long time but the colour faded so fast I am redying it every couple of weeks in an attempt to keep the colour fresh and vibrant.  I would get fed of it, dye it brown then weeks later start craving the red again which would result in the purchase of a red dye later that day. hehe Right now my hair is a brown/blond DIY ombre which I am not liking anymore.  I plan to go a chocolate brown soon to match the lovely new Halo Hair Extensions I bought a couple of weeks ago. :)

I've joined bloglovin! :)

Welcome to Glitter Dash!

So this is my first post in my beauty, fashion and life blog.  I have always wanted to do one but lacked the confidence.  I read and follow so many wonderful beauty blogs and regularly watch beauty gurus on YouTube which has inspired me to just give it a crack.

To describe the name Glitter Dash.  I thought long and hard about a name for this blog.  Sadly I lack a lot of creativity when it comes to thinking of names for things and a lot of the ones I thought of were unsurprisingly already taken.  I really wanted the word 'glitter' in it as I love glitter.  As I was tidying my daughters toys up I picked up her favourite My Little Pony character Rainbow Dash and thought 'oh Glitter Dash sounds good'. So I logged back into blogger thinking 'it'll already be taken but worth a try' to find it was available!

I would like to try doing a YouTube channel at some point but for now I will be concentrating mostly on blogging.  I have no idea if anyone will ever read this blog but I am going to do a Get To Know Me blog next.
